Jeremie Lee Cook a native son to Jacksonville and the Beaches, graduated from Neptune Beach's Duncan U. Fletcher Sr High School where the road to create and make Sandbar Sofa Surfers became a Reality. In my freshman year I met with a guidance counselor who asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up and enter the workforce. I told him I wanted to be a Military Attorney, and he laughed and said, "No, what do you really want to do" He said I could have any job I wanted in the military because my ASVAB score was so high. He said what was my dream job?... I stared at him for a moment and said I would want to make surf movies. He said excellent we need to get you in drama.....I graduated from SOSU with a BA in Acting and Directing and a BS in Occupational Safety and Health where I was on the President's List and won Director of the Year. About Jeremie Cook Jeremie Cook is a Jacksonville-based storyteller, filmmaker, performer, educator, and lifelong observer of Northeast Florida’s Atlantic coastline. Through Sandbar Sofa Surfers, he documents the waves, weather, surf culture, coastal history, sandbars, and ocean conditions surrounding Jacksonville Beach, Hanna Park, the Poles, and the greater Northeast Florida surf community. With a background in theater, educational media production, writing, visual storytelling, and years spent studying local surf conditions, Jeremie created Sandbar Sofa Surfers as a growing archive dedicated to preserving the atmosphere, stories, and changing coastal character of Northeast Florida surfing. ​ Sandbar Sofa Surfers embodies the spirit of surfing.
